Motorola is never late in offering updates to its users but this time when the proud Motorola Droid Turbo users upgraded their phone with Android 5.1 Lollipop, they started complaining about many issues regarding the battery. The update was floated in the beginning of July but soon users started regretting the same.
Motorola Droid Turbo which was launched in October 2014, had been running on Android 4.4 KitKat and the company didn’t provide any updates about Android 5.0 Lollipop but straight away released the new Android 5.1 Lollipop update this July. This new update was actually much awaited and the users immediately upgraded their phones with many new features but the Turbo speed seems to be not going well with these upgraded features.
Users of the phone have shared their experiences with the company and that indicated one thing that the battery was almost half drained with 5 hours of standing time or 1.5 to 2 hours of browsing time. The battery that was earlier about 30% drained in this time was drained by 50% because of this Operating System Update probably.
This battery issue for Motorola is the big concern for the users as Motorola has always been amongst the top runners in providing the massive battery of up to 3900 mAh. This battery offers up to 48 hours of usage time while the standby time goes up to 24 hours which is quite substantial when one talks about smartphones. Other features like 20.7 megapixel primary camera, 2.7 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 805 processor, 32GB internal storage, and 3GB RAM has made this phone quite a hit at its price.
Some users may be complaining about the battery issues after the updates but all others are quite happy with the said update and enjoying the features, be it at the cost of battery.
