As mentioned in the discussions found at the Google Forums and Android Tracker Website, the issue started since late October. Users were hoping that the issue will get fixed by January, but that wasn’t the case. The updates initially began in early November 2016 for the models like Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 6P, Pixel C, and Nexus 5 X, Nexus 9, Nexus 9 LTE, and Nexus Player.
At that time, Nexus 6 also received December security release, but that was entirely based on Android 7.0. Finally, Nexus 5X and 6P got the update after a delay for almost two weeks. When owners started getting the new software in 2016, they stated that the updates would be weighed 26MB for Nexus 6P and 65MB for Nexus 5X respectively.

Bluetooth Complications

Many people who are using Nexus 6P or Nexus 5Xhave complained that after staying connected to the Bluetooth system of the car for 5 to 10 seconds, it gets disconnected. The problem was not occurring for a particular model of car.
The problem is not new as it started when Google released the first 7.1.1 Nougat preview. Users have been complaining about the Bluetooth problem post the update since October 2016 in different forums like Google Product Forums, Android Tracker Website, and much more.

I was using the version 7.0, and the Bluetooth was working fine till then in 2011. I updated to 7.1.1 beta, and the Bluetooth was no longer working. I deleted the pairing, repair the system but Bluetooth was not working while placing calls. When I start the car, it says Bluetooth so now I know that it’s connected but when I, nothing happens, and it seems that the phone is not connected. Anyone else having the issue? – This was written by one of the users on Nexus Help Forum.

Even after the update of January security, the problem is still to be resolved. Monthly updates help to improve the security on the devices of Android by releasing patches that would counter any threats. The January security update that was published at the same time shared details of all the existing affected Android devices. Users were disappointed that the update didn’t fix the Bluetooth connectivity problem.

Now, it is expected that Google might come up with a good solution very soon to sort out the Bluetooth connectivity issue. Well, till now no reports regarding the upgrade of Android 7.1.2 is available.
