Oppo, on Tuesday launched its slimmest smartphone, the R5, here in India, which is priced at Rs. 29,990. The Oppo company has announced that the R5 smartphone will be available for the pre-booking, which would start from January 1, 2015.
The Oppo R5 is the ‘slimmest smartphone’ at just 4.85 mm thick, which is launched in India. It is viewed that the Vivo’s flagship X5 Max which was launched earlier this month is now currently the slimmest smartphone in the world by having 4.75 mm.
The Oppo company launched the Oppo R5 at $499. This phone features the metallic and ceramic finishes at the corners. This phone measures 148.9x74x4.85 mm and is weights 155 grams. This R5 has a 5.2 inch full HD (1080×1920 pixel) AMOLED display that would offer density of 423ppi. The Oppo R5 smartphone is powered by a 64-bit octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon with 615 (MSM8393) processor which is with (2.1GHz quad core +1.5GHz quad core) and even come with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 405.
It has a good 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and 5 MP of front camera. It runs on the company’s proprietary ColorOS 2.0.1 which is also based on Android KitKat 4.4. It has 16 GB of inbuilt storage and cannot be expanded. The R5 gets on with the 2000mAh battery.
