The fastest growing Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has created a huge market for its phones in India. It has become the second largest smartphone merchant in India. As per CY2016 Quarterly smartphone tracker data for the fourth quarter by IDC, the company has gained the second position in Indian smartphone market for the entire series of Redmi 3S. Every year the company’s shipments are increasing with the subsequent growth of 15.3 per cent, despite of overall downfall in the smartphone shipments. The company also managed to stay on the first position on online sales.
The company reached the second place with the 10.7 per cent share in CY Q4 2016 as compared to 3.3 per cent share for same period last year. Xiaomi shown its presence in the Indian market in the year 2014 and has grown strong in the Rs.10000 category smartphones in the years 2015 and 2016.
Indian MD of Xiaomi Manju Jain stated in her statement that product quality and technological innovative approach are the core reason of Xiaomi success strategy in India. The success was supported by the vigorous operational growth in the online and offline sales, qualified team of professionals, active customer care, increase in the production of units and support of after sales department.
The company’s spokesperson also stated that the support of Redmi Mi customers has helped company to achieve great results in 2016 and company pledges to maintain the same quality standards in its upcoming products in India.
