Xiaomi extending its product portfolio by adding mobile processors to the list by 2016

Xiaomi, the trending smartphone manufacturer from China is continuously adding new products to its portfolio that is grabbing the global attention. The company has also come up with variety of smartphones and other appliances like water purifier, but now the company has taken a step further in the mobile business by deciding to come up with mobile chipsets and processor. The company has not announced the processor as of now and as per the reports, it will hit the market in early 2016. Thus, there is not much time left in its launch and it is believed the company started its research work long back. These chipsets would help the company further bring down its cost as it is planning to use these chipsets in its entry level mobile phones. These base models will be made available for very competitive pricing as it is the key selling point for Xiaomi.

The company has still not decided to use these chipsets for their high-end phones as they may not support the functionality of these phones. These flagship mobiles will use Qualcomm chipset.

As far as, these new chipsets are concerned, company has started taking all minor and major steps to get the license and rope in expertise. The company has already applied for ARM core license and have also hired the expert in this field, Wang Xiang, head of Qualcomm to offer his expert touch to this new chipset business.

There is nothing officially said about this chipset manufacturing business but as the sources reveal that there are all chances that this rumour turn out to be the fact in early 2016.
